Black and white is one of the hottest combos for summer. We especially love the black and white striped shorts from SYLK. Of course, for a pop of color, add a little kick to your step with some bright blue Seychelles wedges. We are also loving floral jeans. Be bold with a pair from 7 for all Mankind.
Our own Lori Harris is in the Winter/Spring 2013 Mountain Express Magazine discussing the essentials and trends of this winter’s wardrobe in The Coolest Haute Fashions for Winter.

Q: Lori, patterned denim was in during the warmer months, will we continue to see that this winter?
A: Yes! To “winterize” this look, we are seeing dark denims with brocade velvet prints. 7 for All Mankind is doing a lovely jean this winter featuring that classic pattern.
Q: Patterned denim, loving it. Any other trends you are interested in?
A: The other trend that I am finding adorable is the trumpet hem on skirts and dresses, especially in leather materials. I am especially excited about the leather/lace black dress combos with the trumpet hem. This is a very feminine look that goes great with
a chiffon tie top and blazer.
Q: You mentioned liking the “trumpet hem” on skirts and dresses. Any other look you are liking?
A: Another feminine look I like is a peplum top, maybe in faux leather, over pencil skirts or skinny trousers.
Q: If doing a short skirt or dress this winter, what do you suggest the best way is to stay warm is?
A: Tights or leggings are always a great way to stay warm under a skirt or dress. You have to be careful that the materials don’t rub and “stick” together like a chiffon dress over sweater tights would not work. Boots with shearling lining are another great way to stay warm, like the Ugg bootie with the shearling liner and cuff at Mary Jane’s.
Q: How are you feeling about fur this year?
A: I am always a big fan of faux fur vests, especially in a winter white. It’s such a classic look and perfect for après ski in Park City.
Q: What’s the best way to keep hands toasty without wearing something bulky like a ski glove?
A: Echo Touch gloves are perfect for keeping your hands warm and fashionable, while still functional. The touch points on the glove fingers allows you to keep the gloves on while still using a smart phone.
Q: What are you liking for outerwear? Any specific materials or patterns?
A: Oversized swing style coats and belted capes are a fantastic way to add a trend to your wardrobe and get the most bang for your buck since you can wear it daily. I like the cozy materials like faux fur or shearling linings. Bright colors are a great way to add a pop to the wardrobe. Red and purple are my favorite shades for this winter.
Q: What can you suggest for a trendy hat?
A: I also really love Delux hats in felt with trims such as bows and buttons that harkens back to the 1940′s. They go with all the feminine coats and dresses that are on trend for this winter.
Q: What good winter boots can you suggest?
A: We are carrying a great selection of timberland boots and booties that are not only fashionable but also practical for park city. They all have a lug grip style sole and are waterproof.
Q: Any purses or bags that are a must have to tote around?
A: Boxy/doctor style handbags in bright pops of color like teal; hot pink or cobalt blue are great adds to the wardrobe. You can either use the longer strap and carry them as a cross body or use the short handles as more of a briefcase style of bag.
